Abstract

The Le Havre Bouyage Centre manages around 160 buoys, of which 127 are ligthed. The solarisation of the lighted buoys, which was completed at the beginning of 1991 no longer required the use of the buoy tender "Quinette de Rochemont II" for repair operations. Also, the use of a fast launch at the Le Havre Buoyage Centre makes economic sense. This article follows the complete route from the thinking behind the project right up to the launch being put into service, and it finally sets out the principal characteristics of this new equipment.
