Abstract

Functionalized cyclopentadienyl ligands, with, e.g. one to five methylthio and four to zero chloro substituents are very promising species. Starting from [(C5Cl4Br)Mn(CO)3] it has now been possible to synthesize all members of the series 1 which contain this ligand. The donor properties of the ligand increase with increasing number of MeS groups.

<abstract>Functionalized cyclopentadienyl ligands, with, e.g. one to five methylthio and four to zero chloro substituents are very promising species. Starting from [(C5Cl4Br)Mn(CO)3] it has now been possible to synthesize all members of the series 1 which contain this ligand. The donor properties of the ligand increase with increasing number of MeS groups.</abstract>
