Abstract

Models engineering considers any software artefact as a model. Models management groups a set of features which permit to represent, create, store and manipulate the models. Nowadays, the needs of the designers in terms of the process management and products are diverse and the modelling tools are not complete because the needs and usages around the models are not consensual. To remedy the heterogeneity and the functional limitations of the models' management tools, the aim of our researches is to facilitate the work of model designers and project managers by helping them in choosing processes, models and modeling environments adapted to their specific needs. This paper details the use of a service-oriented approach for model management, according to the needs of the models designers. Our propositions are related to three different abstract levels: the operational level, the organisational level and the intentional level. The operational level allows to choose the appropriate tool, the organisational level facilitates the selection of a process and the intentional level allows to define modelling goals.

<EA>Models engineering considers any software artefact as a model. The operational level allows to choose the appropriate tool, the organisational level facilitates the selection of a process and the intentional level allows to define modelling goals.</EA>
