Abstract
In this paper we present a linear time algorithm to compute a schedule of tasks with real-time constraints that minimizes the total energy consumption on a dynamically variable voltage processor. This result, which is a significant improvement over the classical algorithm, comes as a by-product of a more general continuous optimization problem. We also provide an optimal algorithm when the processor can only take a limited number of clock frequencies.
