Abstract
The « Trois mélodies pour le violoncelle avec accompagnement d’orgue expressif dedicated to Marquis de Corberon » by Alexandre-Pierre-François BoëlyWe discovered the autograph, unpublished manuscript of these Trois mélodies pour le violoncelle avec accompagnement d’orgue expressif dedicated to Marquis de Corberon in the orchestra material of the Society of Ancient Music (Société de Musique d’Autrefois) in the Musée de la Musique. Nicolas Sarre retraces the biography of the dedicatee, Marqui Daniel-Jean-Charles Bourrée de Corberon (1780-1868), well known music lover whose precious Stradivari cello is conserved in the Royal Academy of Music. We then propose an identification of the type of orgue expressif (probably by Théodore Achille Müller) played by this amateur during these decades when several patents are deposited about the expressive organs. Finally, we show how these three melodies are “auto-transcriptions” of three predated works by Boëly for church organ. They find here a new vocation in the context of a chamber music full of sensibility and charm.

Nicolas Sarre retrace ici la biographie complète du dédicataire, le marquis Daniel-Jean-Charles Bourrée de Corberon (1780-1868), amateur fort en vue dont le précieux violoncelle de Stradivari est conservé à la Royal Academy of Music. Nous proposons ensuite d’identifier le modèle d’orgue expressif (œuvre de Théodore Achille Müller) qui fut probablement utilisé par cet amateur durant ces décennies où les instruments expressifs font l’objet de nombreux brevets. Enfin nous montrons comment ces trois mélodie sont des « auto-transcriptions » de trois œuvres antérieures de Boëly écrites pour orgue d’église.
