Abstract

The experiment explores whether sensory effects of odor experiences can be revealed with indirect measures of memory. In the test phase, the subjects were required to assess as fast as possible the identity of difference of pairs of odors. In the learn phase, the subjects encoded pairs of odors, single odors, or names of odors. The results demonstrated effects of repetition priming in terms of reaction times to old, in comparison with new, odors for subjects who had preexperienced pairs of odors.
