generally limited to the skin, nails and the joints Clinical profile of psoriasis as seen in 241 patients studied over a period of 4 years is presented herein. Objectives: To assess the prevalence, and clinical profile of psoriasis, in Yemen Methods: Out of 10,100 skin outpatients seen during the period from in the dermatology department of Al Kuwait University hospitals in Sana'a, Yemen, 241 patients were diagnosed as psoriasis, and were enrolled in the study. The following data were collected and analyzed: age, sex of the patient, duration of the disease, type of psoriasis, and the sites affected were recorded. When possible color photographs were taken, and analyzed. Results: The prevalence of psoriasis among dermatology outpatients in this series works out to be 2.38%. The youngest patient was 10 months olds, and the oldest was 70 year old. The duration of the disease at presentation ranged from 15 days to 15 years. A slight female predominance were observed (f 124/m 117)The most common types were plaque (58.9%) among them one female patient with rupioid type, followed by guttate (20.3%), scalp (8.3%), palmo-plantar, and nail (each 4.2%), pustular psoriasis was seen in seven cases (3%) out of them two were having Acrodermatitis continua of Hallopeau, two cases of erythrodermic psoriasis , and one case of inverse psoriasis were among the studied sample. The most affected sites in descending order were the scalp, trunk, nails, palms, soles, penis, limbs, and genitalia.
