Abstract

Abstract: Since the first commercial CBR applications in the early ‘90s a number of examples of successful deployments of CBR have contributed to the practical experience with this technology. This chapter introduces those aspects that need to be considered during planning, implementation, and actually running a CBR system. It is a nine-step path towards the long-term success of CBR applications (see figure below). The INRECA methodology for building CBR applications, introduced in the subsequent chapters of this book, gives detailed descriptions and guidance on how to enact these steps. The view presented within this chapter focuses on the practical managerial aspects.
