At Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, a computer simulation of how water molecules (red and white) and acid groups (yellow) behave in a polymer fuel cell membrane (green surface). The smaller molecules must be modeled at higher resolution, while the membrane can be studied using a coarse-grain model. |
