Abstract
The intergeneric hybrid Huso huso×Acipenser ruthenus, is widely used in aquaculture in the U.S.S.R. and in other countries. It is a fertile hybrid, and the purpose of our investigation was to compare the structure and variability of the chromosome complements of the parents, the F1 hybrid and two subsequent generations bred from the hybrid. Karyotypes are described in terms of four quantitative parameters: diploid chromosome number (2n), number of bi-armed chromosomes (MC), number of uni-armed and microchromosomes (AC), and number of chromosome arms (NF)
