Abstract

This paper provides a short overview on the status of sturgeon farming in Europe, covering most of the EU and former East Block countries. Production trends are presented along with a listing of species cultured in various countries. Principle culture systems are described and an opinion is presented on possible constraints and perspectives of sturgeon farming, including market opportunities.
