Abstract
The fauna collected in the layer J1 of Sainte-Anne 1 includes 6365 rests but considering important fragmentation we could determine only 266 fossils. Carnivores are rare: Meles meles, Canis lupus ssp. (of modest size) and Vulpes vulpes. Ungulates dominates the fauna with: Cervus elaphus, Rangifer tarandus (the most abundant taxon after the horse), Capra cf. ibex, Bovinae, Equus caballus cf. piveteaui (the most abundant) and a very big Ungulate which can be a Rhinocerotidae or an Elephantidae. From palaeoenvironnemental point of view, this fauna points out the existence of an opened landscape in cold or even Arctic context (presence of bone and dental gelifracts) and from chronological point of view a moment of the isotopic stage 6.
