All voucher specimens seen are cited for accepted taxa, except <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Poa annua</named-content></italic> for which one voucher per state is provided. Taxa not previously known from, or poorly understood in, Mexico are discussed.<italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Poa palmeri</named-content></italic><bold>sp. nov.</bold> is endemic to forested slopes of the Sierra Madre Oriental, and we distinguished it from <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Poa ruprechtii</named-content></italic> s.s., a species of central Mexico that is here emended to include <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Poa sharpii</named-content></italic> (syn. nov.). <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Poa wendtii</named-content></italic><bold>sp. nov.</bold> is described from the Sierra Santa Rosa in northern Coahuila. <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Poa tacanae</named-content></italic> is placed in synonymy in <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Poa seleri</named-content></italic>. <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Poa gymnantha</named-content></italic> and <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Poa occidentalis</named-content></italic> are newly reported for Mexico, and material historically identified as <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Poa villaroelii</named-content></italic> areplaced in <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Poa chamaeclinos</named-content></italic>.The genus <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Dissanthelium</named-content></italic> is considered to belong within <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Poa</named-content></italic>, and the Mexican taxa, <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Dissanthelium calycina</named-content></italic> subsp. <italic>mathewsii</italic> and <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Dissanthelium californicum</named-content></italic>, are treated as <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Poa calycina</named-content></italic> var.<italic> mathewsii</italic> and <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Poa thomasii</named-content></italic>, respectively. <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Poa</named-content></italic> subsect. <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Papillopoa</named-content></italic><bold>subsect. nov.</bold> is erected for <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Poa mulleri</named-content></italic>. Lectotypes are designated for <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Poa conglomerata</named-content></italic> and <italic><named-content content-type="taxon-name">Poa seleri</named-content></italic>.
