Abstract
Multistabile molekulare Materialien bieten vielversprechende Perspektiven für die Erforschung von Festkörperphänomenen und Anwendungen in molekularen Funktionseinheiten. In der Zuschrift auf S. 10301 ff. stellen C. J. Kepert et al. eine Metall‐organische Gerüststruktur mit einem einzigartigen dreistufigen Spin‐Crossover vor. Der Übergang erstreckt sich über vier Spinzustände und zwei Temperaturbereiche, in denen das Material formal tristabil ist, d. h., drei der vier Zustände sind innerhalb jedes dieser Bereiche stabil und könnten thermisch individuell angesteuert werden.
