Abstract

Associative processors have been found to be highly suitable for a number of demanding real-time applications. To take advantage of the capabilities of these architectures, some unusual algorithms and programming techniques have been developed. The effectiveness of these techniques, and the applicability of associative systems is demonstrated, using a signal-processing application as an example. The system is the Associative Linear Array Processor. The system architecture, the application, the algorithms and the programming techniques are described.
