L'OCLC (Online Computer Library Center) est une organisation à but non lucratif à visibilité mondiale au service des bibliothèques.
Il gère notamment un catalogue collectif des bibliothèques (WorldCat) à l'échelle internationale. En février 2009 le site OCLC fait état de 69 000 bibliothèques.[1]
Situé à Dublin dans l'Ohio, l'OCLC, par son centre de recherche, a été à l'origine du Dublin Core.
Éléments historiques
L'OCLC a été créée en 1967 avec la dénomination Ohio College Library Center par Fredrick G. Kilgour.
