Abstract
Abstract: A questionnaire to determine the professional productivity of registered dance therapists (DTRs) was sent out to the entire group of 250 DTRs. The response rate was approximately 40%. A factor analysis of the data yielded an equation for a single productivity factor composed of four subfactors (publications, education, presentations, professional activities). The examination of these values when comparing types of master’s degrees (MS vs. MA) as well as length of time as a DTR yielded no significant differences. When grouped according to educational level, Ph.D. DTRs showed greater productivity overall, as well as in the publications subfactor. Comparisons of basic master’s DTRs grouped according to their graduating school showed significant differences in the professional activities subfactor, but no significant overall productivity differences. The relevance of these findings and indications for further research are discussed.
