Soils of Urban, Industrial, Traffic, Mining and Military Areas (SUITMA) is an international group dedicated to the scientific research on Soils of Urban, Industrial, Traffic, Mining and Military Areas. It was created in 1998 during the IUSS (International Union of Soil Science) congress held in Montpellier (France).
It is also the name of a serie of symposiums held, every other year, by this workgroup :
- SUITMA 2000 Essen, in Essen (Germany)
- SUITMA 2003 Nancy, in Nancy (France)
- SUITMA 2005 Cairo, in Cairo (Egypt)
- SUITMA 2007 Nanjing, Nanjing (China)
- SUITMA 2009 New-York, New-York (United States)
